Cristina Buckley

My work celebrates color and the power of décor to create a mood and express one’s personality.

-Cristina Buckley

Cristina Buckley started her career as a set designer for television and films, so it’s only fitting that her wallpaper collections evoke plenty of emotion and drama. Drawing from a host of influences—Hollywood Regency, maximalism, chinoiserie, Art Deco, ornamentalism—her designs are a joyful concoction of bold and brilliant styles. Steeped in the worlds of art and interiors at an early age, Cristina was raised in New York City by a family of designers. She developed a fascination with textiles and decorative objects while working as a set designer, and after studying surface pattern design she jumped at the chance to work for Schumacher before heading to Los Angeles as Design Director for Kelly Wearstler. With her trademark embrace of saturated colors and classic motifs with a modernist spin, Cristina debuted her own line of wallpapers in 2018. In 2020, she came full circle, returning to Schumacher—and to New York City—as a Design Director.
