Drusus Tabor

I make these patterns because they bring me joy. I don’t want to do anything else – especially when I know they bring others joy as well. Color and pattern are two of life's greatest gifts to all.

-Chip Dort

Chip Dort is an alumnus of several prestigious art schools, both in the United States and abroad. His formal art education culminated in a Masters of Fine Arts degree in Painting and Printmaking from The Yale School of Art. Travels in Europe and North Africa, in addition to working in the New York City interior design industry, have contributed to a unique aesthetic sensibility, rooted in a deep understanding and appreciation of the history of the fine and decorative arts. Chip Dort’s studio, Drusus Tabor, creates rich and bold hand-blocked pillows, which embody the notion that “true luxury resides in those things made in real time, by a real person, using real materials.”
