What Makes It Special
Hadiya Williams’ Den Appliqué in carbon is a wonderfully imaginative irregular-grid pattern based on paper cutouts. Abstracted architectural shapes are appliquéd onto a cotton-linen ground and accentuated by embroidered elements. This graphic mid-scale fabric design lends style and texture to furniture, pillows and window treatments.

Hadiya Williams' art and design practice includes pottery, surface, design, and visual art. Her aesthetic is inspired by the depth of Black culture across the diaspora, and her collection with Schumacher was inspired by Williams’ focus on themes of genealogy, lineage and home.
